🥀Don't care about animal cruelty? Well, you should! Every sixty seconds one animal suffers abuse. Don't think "At least they don't die, right?" because they do. Every year in just the USA, over 10 million animals die from abuse. Wanna know something even worse? Animals are tortured and killed, and about 97% of them are farm animals. Speaking of torture, what about lab experiments? Well, every year, over 115 million animals are used in experiments around the world. Approximately 75,000 dogs are tortured in US labs every year. Also in the US are more than 10,000 puppy mills. Don't know what a puppy mill is? They are places where female dogs are pressured to make puppies, then the puppies stay in overcrowded places where the puppies are likely to get sick. Another animal that is special is elephants, who have ivory tusks so that makes them very valuable to poachers. Between 35,000-50,000 are poached every year. In the 21st century there are more elephants being poached than being born. What about animals in the ocean? Well, over 100 million sharks are killed every year illegally, mainly for shark fin soup. Now, one last thing. Cages. What happens when cages and animals mix? Well, if you add in the circus, you find out that circus animals spend 96% of their lives in cages.

Spacestars

A Short Story

In a far-off galaxy, beyond the reaches of our solar system, there exists a place called Spacestars. It is a wondrous realm filled with vast nebulae, swirling galaxies, and twinkling stars that dazzle the eye. Spacestars is in a constant state of motion, with celestial bodies drifting and dancing through the void of space in an intricate cosmic ballet.

At the heart of Spacestars lies the Star Palace, a magnificent structure made of crystalline materials that shimmer and sparkle like diamonds in the light of a thousand suns. The Star Palace is home to the rulers of Spacestars, the Star Kings and Queens, who govern over the various planets and moons that populate the galaxy.

Each planet in Spacestars is unique, with its own ecosystem and inhabitants. The planet of Nova is a fiery world, with rivers of lava and towering volcanoes that spew molten rock into the sky. The Nova-dwellers are a hardy race, able to withstand extreme heat and harness the power of the planet's volcanic energy.

In contrast, the planet of Aurora is a frozen wasteland, covered in ice and snow as far as the eye can see. The Auroraians are a peaceful people, living in harmony with the icy landscape and the mysterious creatures that inhabit it. They have developed advanced technology to survive in the harsh climate, creating shimmering ice palaces and snow-powered vehicles.

Another planet, named Celestia, is a lush paradise teeming with exotic flora and fauna. The Celestians are a wise and ancient race, with a deep connection to the natural world around them. They live in harmony with the creatures of their planet, communicating through a telepathic bond that transcends language barriers.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Spacestars is the phenomenon known as star surfing. This exhilarating sport involves riding the cosmic waves of energy that flow through the galaxy, using specially designed boards to navigate the twists and turns of space. Star surfers are a bold and daring breed, always seeking out new challenges and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

Among the most skilled of the star surfers is a young woman named Luna, who hails from the planet of Selene. Luna is a natural talent, able to effortlessly ride the waves of energy with grace and precision. She is a legend in Spacestars, revered for her skill and daring exploits.

One day, a great darkness fell over Spacestars, casting a shadow over the galaxy and threatening to consume everything in its path. The Star Kings and Queens convened in the Star Palace, discussing how best to combat this new threat. It was then that Luna stepped forward, her eyes blazing with determination.

"I will go to the source of this darkness and confront it head-on," Luna declared, her voice ringing out with courage and conviction. The Star Kings and Queens nodded in agreement, recognizing the bravery and skill of the young star surfer.

Armed with her trusty starboard and a heart full of courage, Luna set out on her journey through the swirling nebulae and distant galaxies of Spacestars. She rode the cosmic waves with speed and agility, navigating through asteroid fields and dodging solar flares as she approached the source of the darkness.

As Luna drew closer, she saw that the darkness was emanating from a massive black hole, its gravitational pull threatening to devour everything in its path. Undaunted, Luna rode her starboard into the heart of the black hole, facing the darkness head-on.

To her astonishment, Luna discovered that the black hole was not a force of evil, but a being of immense power and wisdom. The being revealed itself to be a celestial guardian, tasked with maintaining the balance of the galaxy and protecting it from outside threats.

The guardian explained that a rogue planet had entered Spacestars, disrupting the flow of cosmic energy and causing the darkness to spread. Luna realized that she had to act quickly to prevent the rogue planet from destroying everything she held dear.

With the help of the guardian, Luna devised a plan to redirect the rogue planet and guide it safely out of Spacestars. Together, they worked tirelessly, using their combined powers to create a cosmic shield that would protect the galaxy from harm.

After a fierce battle that tested her strength and resolve, Luna succeeded in pushing the rogue planet back through the swirling vortex of the black hole, sending it hurtling away from Spacestars. The darkness began to dissipate, replaced by the brilliant light of a thousand stars as the galaxy was restored to its former glory.

As Luna emerged victorious from her epic struggle, she was hailed as a hero by the inhabitants of Spacestars. The Star Kings and Queens bestowed upon her the title of Star Champion, honoring her bravery and selflessness in the face of adversity.
