Hawaii Chess Federation
The Hawaii Chess Federation (HCF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. HCF is the official Hawaii state affiliate of the United States Chess Federation (USCF). The HCF is the governing body for chess completion on the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii.
Through the HCF players can compete in over-the-board tournaments and other events, such as the Hawaii Open (usually over Labor Day Weekend). Members can also compete in the US Team Chess League and play daily games against other states. In addition, an HCF team competes in the World Chess League Live events with 10/5 matches every month.
Young players in grades K-12 are encouraged to join the HCF Scholastic Club on chess.com.
